CanFree, my Social Enterprise
The Prashanti centre is the palliative care branch of the Indian Cancer Society and is responsible for providing free breast prostheses to women recovering from a mastectomy. To fulfil my vision of a “Cancer Mukt Jeevan” or “Cancer Free Life”, I considered sourcing breast prosthesis from different NGOs at a price that would be more affordable for patients. However, upon realising that prices for breast prostheses across the board were unreasonably high, I started manufacturing breast prostheses and braziers myself with the aim of helping as many breast cancer patients as possible. I have been an active participant in the designing of the prostheses, consulting a number of professionals before finalising a suitable design with a skilled manufacturer

My work
- I have donated 160 sets of prosthesis braziers and breast prosthesis, on August 4, 2023 to the Prashanti Center for palliative care. These are being donated to women from underprivileged sections of society free of cost.
- I communicate directly with breast prosthesis customers, educating them on the use of prosthesis sets and advising them in matters of personal hygiene, care and sizing
- When I developed the prosthesis sets, I ensured they would be of the highest quality possible at the lowest price
- I Sold 1152 prosthetic bras worth Rs.1,62,086 at 11% of market price with the aim of making them more affordable for women from underserved communities healing from breast cancer
- Sold 180 sets in eco friendly packaging in order to adopt sustainable business practices
- Secured annual contract for 1080 sets of breast protheses and prosthetic bras
- I have received a Trademark for “CanFree”, as well as GST certification
- Allocated the Permanent Account Number of Income Tax (or PAN) for CanFree: AATFC2495C
